General Info

At Tim’S Tavern, located at 1209 Edison Ave, Benton, AR 72015, the vibe is easygoing, the food is hearty, and the experience feels comfortably familiar from the moment you walk in. This barbecue restaurant blends the laid-back feel of a neighborhood diner with the bold flavors you expect from a place that takes smoked meats seriously. Whether you’re stopping by for dinner or settling in for a relaxed evening, the atmosphere stays casual and welcoming.

The menu leans into comfort food done right. Pulled Pork is a standout here-slow-cooked until tender and packed with smoky flavor that doesn’t need any extra hype. It’s the kind of dish that reminds you why barbecue has such a loyal following. BBQ Fries are another crowd favorite, piled generously and perfect for sharing, though most people don’t. They strike that balance between crispy, savory, and indulgent without feeling overdone.

For something a little different, the Macaroni Bites bring a fun twist to a classic comfort dish. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, they pair naturally with the rest of the menu. The Specialty Burger holds its own as well, offering a satisfying, no-nonsense bite that fits right in with the tavern-style setting. If you’re hungry and want everything in one go, the BBQ Mac Attack delivers exactly what the name promises-rich, filling, and unapologetically bold.

Service-wise, Tim’S Tavern keeps things simple and convenient. Alcohol is available, making it easy to unwind with a drink alongside your meal. Dinner service is relaxed, and the casual setup means you never feel rushed. Paying is straightforward too, with debit cards accepted, which adds to the overall ease of the visit.

Among local reviews, the consistent theme is how genuine the experience feels. It’s not about trends or flash-it’s about good food, a solid menu, and a place that feels like it belongs in the community. The location is easy to find, the portions are satisfying, and the overall experience leaves a lasting impression that feels authentic rather than staged.

What customers say?

“ We were looking for a place to eat lunch today and decided to try Tim’s. I follow The Mighty Rib on Facebook and have seen great reviews, so we decided to eat there. The reviews were accurate. Great food and even better service. We will eat there again!! My niece would not share the banana pudding and did not want to share the fried pickles!! ”

“ Had a friend recommend this place, and having an afternoon to myself I decided to stop in and give it a shot. I've been in need of a -good- BBQ place. And holy cow. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. Great portion sizes for the pricing. The food was absolutely stellar. Chopped brisket sandwich, bbq fries, and a piece of fish (I wanted to try it—also in need of a good fish place). The meat was incredibly tender, and the sauce was robust but not overpowering. (I think I just had the "normal" sauce, but want to try the hot next time). The fish was crispy on the outside, and tender and moist on the inside. And the BBQ fries were massive. We will absolutely be coming back here. ”

“ My wife and I have been living in Benton for years, but somehow never made it by Tim's till today. I sure wish we'd visited earlier because the food is fantastic! I had the BBQ brisket sandwich, and my wife had the cheeseburger meal. Her burger was so juicy it was dripping on her plate, and the meat in mine was tender and smothered in a delightful peppery BBQ sauce. We both had sides of okra, and it was some of the best I'd ever enjoyed. A gentleman who I believe was the proprietor came by to chat with us, and he was very welcoming and friendly, as was our server. I think I have a new favorite place for bbq. The restaurant itself is nondescript and rustic, which made for a lovely dining experience. They play blues music there, which kind of made me feel like I was having a Memphis vibe in Saline County. Tim's is just a great experience all around! ”

“ I have had this place on my list for a year... I am now kicking myself for waiting so long. I'll tell you what, this place is awesome! I had the brisket sandwich, baked beans and Mac N cheese. I purposely asked them to put the sauce on the side so I could taste the brisket on its own. The brisket had a great seasoning from the dry rub and a moist texture. The sauce itself was a wonderfully full flavored sauce with a little spice. The baked beans and Mac N cheese are made in house and both were great. The waitress was nice enough to remind me that I needed something sweet and I have a weakness for banana pudding. The pudding was also very good. This is food you could only hope for at home so, put your order in and feed your family. Highly recommended! Oh, sorry for not providing a picture of the banana pudding... I ate it too quick! ”

“ I was fish hungry, but not starving. I've driven by Tim's for years, but finally stopped today. The catfish was great, their custom mix of tartar sauce was really tasty, and banana pudding was wonderful! ”

“ Excellent service and chow!! Fish, Burgers or BBQ, you can’t go wrong. Frito Pie is my favorite with pulled pork & jalapeños! Burgers are beyond as well!! Great place to watch a Hog Game and sip on an ice cold beer!!! A+ ”
